Bottle Balusters

A construction challenge faced was that of a decorative railing for the upstairs level with highly detailed and wide balusters. In an effort to add an element of sustainable design (as well as a cost-saving measure), I chose to visit a local non-profit (The Welman Project), who provided me with these milk bottles free of charge. We then shaped the bottles, adding wood and trim, to create the balusters. The final image shows the finished, painted result.
